If nothing else it was an exciting World Cup for Team USA despite a disappointing ending in the round of 16.  The bottom line is they put themselves in the hole one to many times.  The were continually fighting back to come from behind.  The game against England was tied on a Robert Green howler.  The ref appeared to rob the USA of a potential winning goal against Slovenia after USA was down 2-0.  Against Algeria, the USA threw everything they had against them.  A victory over Algeria was the only way to assure advancing to the next round.  In added time Landon Donovan punched in the winning goal.

In the knock out round, USA did it again and allowed an early goal.  They equalized on a penalty and played to extra time.  In a familiar refrain, USA concedes an early goal.  This time no miracles or magical comebacks.  They went to the well one to many times.

I enjoyed every minute of it.  From the stunned feeling of Green's error, to feeling agony, relief and outrage against Slovenia, to the ecstatic feeling of a last second win against Algeria and the final disappointment in exiting against Ghana.  Below are highlights of Team USA.
